Artist Profile

I have lived in the West Orange County area for nearly three decades and I have been fortunate enough to have been raised with strong local ties and a deep appreciation for the environment that has led me to practice sustainable crafting that is more about reusing and repurposing rather than recycling.

I sew all my own clothes from upcycled fabrics such as tablecloths, bed sheets, curtains, and shower curtains that have been liberated from thrift stores that benefit animal shelters, women's shelters, children, and homelessness. So not only am I ensuring I am not contributing to fast fashion - I am directly funding causes that are important to me and making sure those items do not end up in a landfill. Leftover fabric is then used to make reusable cotton rounds, reusable sponges, reusable tea bags, reusable coffee filters, and squares towards my rag quilt.

Any excess paint that gets put on my palette gets used to decorate my easel or the inside of my kitchen cabinets to ensure that it does not end up being washed down the drain and impacting the groundwater.
